  10. The Hypermedia Concepts Fred Fish Collection on CDROM V1.5 includes
  11. the ParNET Files pre-installed. This makes it very simple for an Amiga
  12. user to connect to the CDTV and use it as an intelligent CDROM drive.
  13.  
  14.               **** Quick Setup Instructions ****
  15.  
  16. To establish a connection between the CDTV and an Amiga with a hard disk
  17. follow the steps below:
  18.  
  19.  
  20. 1. TURN THE POWER OFF on BOTH MACHINES, then connect the special
  21.    ParNET Cable between the 2 parallel ports.
  22.  
  23. 2. Insert the Fred Fish CDROM into a caddy and then into the CDTV.
  24.  
  25. 3. Power up both machines and allow them to boot normally.
  26.  
  27. 4. Insert the PARBench disk into the Amiga.
  28.  
  29. 5. Doubleclick the 'ParNET.Install' icon.
  30.  
  31. 6. When the script is finished, remove the PARBench disk.
  32.  
  33. 7. Open the Workbench partition on the Amiga and then open the ParNET drawer.
  34.  
  35. 8. Double click the CDTV.Connect icon.
  36.  
  37. 9. Use the remote on the CDTV to open the Fred Fish Collection icon.
  38.  
  39. 10.Double click the PARNET_SWITCH icon.

  42. The two machines should negotiate a connection and the network icon should
  43. appear on the Workbench screen of the Amiga. Inside of this icon will be the
  44. the RAM DISK icon as well an icon (shaped like a fish tank) for the CD.

  47.                   ******* Activating CDTV NETKEYS ********
  48.  
  49.  
  50.  If you don't have a keyboard or mouse for your CDTV or if you just don't have
  51. the room or inclination to clutter your desk with 2 keyboards and/or mice, then
  52. NETKEYs is for you! There are only 2 steps to making your Amiga's keyboard and
  53. mouse operate your CDTV:
  54.  
  55. 1. Open the RAM DISK icon on the CDTV, then locate and double-click
  56.    the "CDTV.NetKeys" Icon.
  57. 2. Open the ParNET Drawer on your Amiga Workbench and double-click
  58.    the "Run.NetKeys" Icon.
  59.  
  60. Now to swap your keyboard/mouse between the Amiga & CDTV hold the left Amiga
  61. key and then press the letter"P". That's all there is to it! (Lots easier to
  62. mouse around this way than to futz with that IR Controller eh?)

  68. * NEVER CONNECT A NON-MODIFIED PARALLEL CABLE BETWEEN AMIGA COMPUTERS
  69. OR CDTV UNITS! See the Cable Documentation on how to build your own.
  70. Connecting a non-modified cable WILL DESTROY COMPONENTS IN ONE OR BOTH
